Today we met Steve, Caro, Teyha and Simon from Google NZ. They talked to us about what they do at Google and inspired us to dream big because anything is possible.
I asked the question ‘How did you make YouTube?’ I found out that YouTube was made 19 years ago. It is called ‘Me at the Zoo”. It is a 19 second video that has been seen by 324 million people. It isn’t good quality but it shows that all dreams can be possible. You can watch the clip here.
For this task We used our smart searching skills to find facts about the bengal Swamp Tiger.
Once we had found the information we needed we made notes in our own words. We nsed there notes to help us write our information reports. information Report give readers with information on a chosen topic by proving them with facts.
LI : To explore what it is like to be in 1850.
On Thurdays we went to Howick Historica Village.
First we went to the butter mixer and we sing the rhyme and we tasted with the crackers and Then we explore the village and my favorite one is the school and lastly we went to the cart and we test it and we have a group photo and we went back to school.
I enjoyed because it tells about the 1850.
For this task we did Addition Algorithm we did maths and we added 679+847 so first you add the 9 and the 7 makes 16 then you add 1 to the 7 and it makes 8 then you add the 8 and the 4 makes 12 and 7 add 8 make 15 and then the answer is 1526
For this task I learned about 3 sentence structures.
The 3 sentence structures are simple, complex and compound. Simple sentence is a sentence that you can understand and has 1 independent clause. Complex sentences have 2 independent clauses and compound is about FANBOYS. I enjoyed this activity because it was interesting to learn what the 3 sentence structures were.
Today I did a Matariki Star on paper, then I put my design onto a DLO.
The maori name for the sun is Ra.The man will go plant seeds in the garden.
I like my Matariki Star.
Ls2 has learned and made statistics of there blogs over the years, we analysed all of our data and made a conclusion of what we found out and why there were differences. We also learned about, means, medians, and modes. Means are the total of numbers didvided by the amount of numbers there are, Medians are the middle of sorted numbers, and Modes are the numbers that appear the most.
I found this activity fun because I could understand means.
Today I bib long jump and shot put and we went 1th plast in the rast and I came 2sdin shot put and I came 1th in long jump and then we celebrated and then I went back to school and then went to the hall and then the ball went and then we went home.
On wednesday we had a school gala and we got 5 tickets and we had a ice block for free and then we got a Christmas tree that they made a Christmas tree out wood and we made a pencil case out of toilet paper rollsand and then I got a spinning top and then I went to get a friendship bracelet but there were no more.
I enjoyed using all of my tokens. I did well at making my pencil case. I need to improve on using my last token.
Today I finished my Halloween poster. We are doing Halloween themed tasks if we’d like to because it was Halloween. For my design, I chose to draw a Jack-O-Lantern because it’s cool. I did well at tracing it, and picking matching colours. I need to improve on making the title look better. Here is my work :
